Art museum to feature painted wall
The new Taubman Museum of Art will feature ephemeral art on the wall bordering its outdoor cafe, museum director Georganne Bingham said.
The curving wall at the intersection of Salem Avenue and Williamson Road will be painted by a succession of artists. The wall is owned by the city, which has approved the usage, Bingham said. Mayo said the city council gave Bingham a "verbal go-ahead" to paint the wall.
A new artist will be brought in every few months to paint over the work of the old, Bingham said. "People can sit there and watch them do it. It's going to be fun."
