I want to make a short response to Professor Dennis Kilper's critique of Randall Stout's new museum design for the Roanoke Valley ("A museum of expensive mimicry," March 27 Commentary page).

Many of the comments about the proposed new Art Museum of Western Virginia say that it should look more like the buildings already there, and/or be built somewhere other than downtown.

The proposed design for the new Art Museum of Western Virginia is going to need some selling.
